If you are like me,my business needs a kick it in the you know what. I set some goals. But honestly speaking,the reason I haven't really accomplished some of my goals because I didn't improve on what was working for me and I didn't eliminate things that wasn't working for me at all. And when some things are not working at all,you might need to take a step back to re-evaluate the situation and try to figure out what you can do to help breathe life into parts or areas of your business. I guess it can be like a car that is running well because it needs a new engine. So here are some things that I strongly feel will help you re-charge your business for more success if you are in my situation.
REASSESS YOUR GOALS - If you are like me,you wrote down your goals. ( I hear that you are more likely to accomplish your goals if you write them as opposed to just letting it sit in your head ).So review them to see what it is you have done. Have you achieved your goals? If not,look at what it is you are doing that is not working and make some changes. But if you are doing some things that is working for you,continue to do it but do more of it. More than likely,it would boost your business. Remember,use your goals as a guideline. They do not have to be etched in stone!
EXPAND YOUR NETWORKING -I have learned that one way to jump start your business again is to do more networking. Join clubs/groups like www.meetup.com -referred to me by LaShon James - Major,Notary Long Beach. Get to know others,learn from them and let them learn from you. Just like we do here on AR. This is an excellent way of building a strong foundation for your business.
STREAMLINE YOUR BUSINESS PLAN - Always review your business plan on a daily basis-not on a monthly,quarterly or yearly basis. My broker told us in a class that our business plan should be our daily plan. As with your goals,you probably need to upgrade. Keep up with the latest technology,marketing strategies,trends and market conditions in your area so that you can stay abreast of your competition.
REVAMP YOUR WEBSITE - Look over your website and see how you can give it a breath of fresh air for your recharged business. You don't necessarily need to change the entire design but you might need to spruce up with things like customer benefits. Adding more content is always a wise decision. People always need information and they want to go to your website to go and get it. If they don't,they will definitely go somewhere else and that's what you are trying to avoid.
RAISE YOUR SEARCH ENGINE RATINGS- Tweak your keywords and refine your content to match. Places such as Google,Yahoo,AOL and Ask that you can go to to improve your search engine ratings. Make your site the best it can be because search engines does not take crap. ( I am about to start working on my website hopefully soon )
TWEAK YOUR EZINE - Review your ezine,the layout,design and content. Maybe you should adda new section or some reader interaction. Ask your subscribers what they would like to see in your ezine and what they don't like about it. Offer them a free gift for answering your questions. Offer them an additional gift if they leave accurate information such as name,address,telephone,e-mail address and more information such as "Are they willing to buy or sell? If so,when and for how much. I think this could be a great way to find out how to improve your ezine.
REFINE YOUR MARKETING PLAN - Do some research. You need to keep up with the latest trends and changes in the online marketing world. About 85% of first time home buyers go online first to start their home buying process. Again,if you don't have the information that people are looking for,more than likely they will find it some where else. And you definitely don't want this to happen.
STRENGTHEN YOUR REPUTATION-Go the extra mile for your clients. Show them that they deserve your trust and respect. Build a reputation stronger than a brick wall -That is strong.
STRIVE TO LEARN MORE - There is so much to learn in this business and the more we know,the more we can do! So,let's always make it a point to learn all we can.
