DC Real Estate and Area Events: September 2008

Someone sent this to me about a week ago. Thought I share it with you all.

An Irishman, a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing
construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building. They were
eating lunch and the Irishman said, 'Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and
cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off
this building.

'The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed "Burritos
 again"! If I get burritos! one more time I'm going to jump off, too.'

The blond guy opened his lunch and said, ' Bologna
again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too.'

The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned
beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death. The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a
burrito, and jumped, too. The blonde guy opened his lunch,saw the
bologna and jumped to his death as well.
 
At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She
said, 'If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never
would have given it to him again!' The Mexican's wife also
wept and said, 'I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he
hated burritos so much.'

Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's wife. The
blonde's wife said,
'Don't look at me. He makes his own lunch.'

Am I the only one who is not so crazy about this $700 Billion bailout deal? I mean why should $700 billion dollars have to be paid to help the same people who are responsible for this whole mortgage mess to begin with? I am going to wait if the Bush Administration officials and congressional leaders are going to work out details of this bailout deal over the weekend.

So what can you buy with $700 billion? A lot of things of course. But how would you spend it? Here are some things you can do with $700 billion.

• Buy 7,000 million dollar homes - Unlike you know who who has like seven homes,I would make sure that I keep good track of my houses.
• Buy over 1,600 Private jets-Now that you are filthy rich,you can chose to fly sometimes instead of just driving all the time.
• Buy 2,120 Bentley Azures and have some money left over to hire drivers and security. With this many cars,you are going to need them.
• Buy 3.5 billion IPhones- I have always wanted one of these phones. Heck,it is time for me to upgrade from my T-Mobile Dash anyway.
• Buy four Apples? You didn't think that I was talking about the fruit Apple were you? LOL.(The company Apple). It is said to be worth $165 billion dollars so I have enough to buy at least four of them. And still have like 40 billion left over to do pay Steve Jobs to run all four of them.
• Buy 12 Bill Gates (Networth-$58 million). Heck besides running his philanthropy organization with his wife Melinda and doing those odd commercials with Jerry Seinfield (That commercial reminded me of another show that was about nothing-I wonder what show that is),he is not doing much these days. And since he is a genius,if you have a start-up company or a company that is struggling,he can help make me it a profitable company.
• Buy Exxon Mobile-(The whole company) Whether gas goes up or down,you will never have to worry about whether or not you can put gas in your Bentley Azures or private jets.
• Buy your favorite teams. Since different franchises in different sports cost more than each other,I will let you decide which of your favorite teams you want to buy. But the good thing about buying your favorite teams,you get to get rid of the horrible VP,GM's who are doing such a bad job running the company. Ex:Matt Millen. Update: Matt Millen has been fired as the GM of Detroit Lions after like seven years on the job and with like a 11-700 record as a General Manager with Detroit Lions. Sorry Matt. At least UPS is still hiring.
• Buy every single person in America McDonalds Popeye's Apple Pie. (Who's dumb idea was it to start baking McDonalds Apple Pies anyway. McDonalds use to be sooo good back in the day.)
• Feed every children in Africa. With $700 billion,you can do that and more.
• Give over four million Americans free college education at Private Institutions- This would be a great idea for some people who can't get financial aid even though they qualify for it.

So this is my list of what what I will do if I had $700 Billion.  So how would you spend $700 Billion? I am curious to know.

Yesterday when I was watching Carmen Wong Ulrich aka the young Suze Orman(At least I think so)show on CNBC "On the Money,She said that the three credit bureaus-Experian,Transunion and Equifax have formed a new credit scoring system. It's called Vantage Score.

Your Vantage Score could look different from your FICO Score. It uses the same underlying data about your debts as the FICO score you already know. Experian,Equifax and Transunion are private companies that each track your accounts,balance and payment habits. A credit score simply assigns a weight to those factors to produce an indicator of how much risk you pose as a borrower. Fair Isaac Formula for scoring is the one lenders like best. The lender pays the credit bureau for the score,and the bureau pays FICO for using its formula.

Now it looks like the three credit bureaus want to cut Fair Isaac out of the picture to avoid paying them. The three bureaus actually tried this before but they didn't succeed. They are hoping for a different result this time around with the Vantage Score.

While the FICO scale runs from 300 to 850,the Vantage Score range is more "intuitive" because it breaks down like an school report card.

• 901-990 equals "A" credit.
• 801-900 equals "B" credit.
• 701-800 equals "C" credit.
• 601-700 equals "D" credit.
• 501-600 equals "F" credit.

This could be what we need. I know a lot of people are not so crazy about the FICO Score. People think by the three bureaus forming Vantage Point,it will force Fair Isaac to be more more flexible with its prices. And by the way,you still have to pay for it. So make sure you only pay for just one of the scores and not both.

Good morning! I'm Lanre Folayan reporting the Congress Heights Washington DC Market Report Statistics (Zipcode 20032) for August 2008. While home sales are down from a year ago in Congress Heights Washington DC,house value is up.

Average sold house price in Congress Heights Washington DC was $241,665 compared to $213,411 this time last year a 13.24% gain. Also average sold house price for a house in Congress Heights Washington DC last month was $288,292 which was even better.

Total units of house sold this month in Congress Heights Washington DC were 10 houses compared to 19 this time last year a 44.44% drop.

Average days of a house on the market that sold in Congress Heights Washington DC was 87 days compared to 77 days last year a 12.99% increase.

Sales are up from last month. However sales are down this same time last year.

But average home price of a house that sold in Anacostia Washington DC was $229,091 up from $227,285 up 0.79% from this same time last year. Does this mean that the market has bottomed out in Anacostia Washington DC Real Estate? I think it is too quick to make that prediction.

Well! Like I promise Barbara Carter,one of my favorite bloggers (Too many here to name-Don't get me started on my favorite bloggers-LOL!). I am giving her my second MeMe this year since she tagged me. So here it goes.

I believe that Jesus Christ is coming back.

I dance to whatever I feel like dancing to. ( I don't dance a lot anymore )

I sing whatever I hear playing that I like.

I don't like seafood except fish and oysters?

I write blogs (Preparing for my next career as a screenwriter)

I win most of the time I play basketball.

I lose sometimes when I play sports.

I never know what is going to happen tomorrow.

I listen to Gospel music and whatever my brother is playing in his car when I ride with him-LOL.

I can usually be found online blogging on Active Rain (Well! Most of the time)

I am a man of God.

 I read things sometimes I have no business even looking at ( It is not those magazines that you think people. I am talking about those entertainment magazines Ex:Brangelina,Brittney Spears,50 cents,Kanye West etc.

All I can say what a year we have been had so far. And we still have three months to go before we count down to 2009. So far in 2008,several things that have occurred are not things that will make anybody happy or smile. These include:

• High oil prices, which led to both high food prices (due to a dependence of food production on oil production)
• Global inflation; a substantial credit crisis leading to the bankruptcy of several large and well established investment banks;
• Increased unemployment and the possibility of a global recession developed.
• Hurricanes
• Outrageous rising gas prices.
• Subprime Mortgage crisis.
• Declining dollar value.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that there are not too many good things going on right now. But despite all of the things that have occurred so far this year,I have learned that we should always smile and be thankful for what we have. It could've been a whole lot worse. That's why inspite of all of this madness,I still smile. It's always a great thing to smile.

1. Smiling will make you happy and put you in a positive frame of mind
2. You can cheer up other people making them more receptive to you. it will cheer up other people making them more receptive to you
3. it tones up the right muscles in your face giving it a natural "lift"-Cost way less than paying a surgeon to do one for you for thousands of dollars.
4. it is an instant "circuit breaker"during times of stress
5. And the most important thing about smiling,it costs absolutely nothing

People say that they can tell if someone who you are talking to on the telephone is smiling. So make it your goal everyday to smile at people. Besides,there are too many people in this world who are not happy right now.
