I almost did the happy dance. It is free to become a member of www.zillow.com. But how do you become a Zillow All-Star? Well according to David Gibbons, Zillow Director, Community Relations in a blog he wrote July 12,2008,he stated:

Well, we'll be tweaking the formula as we go but simply, All-Stars are the most active users on Zillow. They are the folks posting the most discussions, photos, listings, loan quotes, etc. New badges are awarded daily and to retain Zillow All-Stars status, you will need to remain active on Zillow. So once you get your All Star Badge,you definitely need to remain active.

Avg days of a DC Petworth house on the market: 110 days compared to 121 days a 9.09 decrease from June 2008. Total units sold: 45 DC Petworth compared to 47 this time last year a 4.26% decrease from June 2008. Total sold dollar volume: $15,397,667 compared to $19,837,229 a 22.38% decrease from June 2008. Avg sold price of a DC Petworth house for sale was $334,732 compared to $422,069 in June 2008. Average listing price of a DC Petworth house that sold was $369,447

Out of the 45 DC Petworth houses for sale that sold:15 of them were conventional loans,16 of them were FHA loans,3 of them were VA loans,5 of them were Assumption loans,6 of them were cash purchases,1 of them was another form of payment and one was unreported.

Pending home sales up 3.2% in March

National Association of Realtors said that number of signed contracts to buy previously occupied homes rose for the second month in a row. So what does this mean that the housing market has bottomed out? I definitely can't answer that question.

But it's great to hear good news in the Real Estate Market. Hopefully this will get people who are cautious of buying to buy a home. The results not only beat analysts expectations but were also 1.1 percent about last year's level. This is the first time that has happened since December.

Pending home sales were up 8.5% in the South and nearly 4% in the West. They fell 5.7% in the Northeast and 1% in the Mideast. Our best hope for us real estate professionals to help continue this trend of increasing home sales is the $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers. The law defines "first-time home buyer" as a buyer who has not owned a principal residence during the three-year period prior to the purchase.

DC Petworth Real Estate Market Report (Zip code 20011)-March 2009. Average sold price of a DC Petworth house was $314,170 compared to $390,354 in March 2008-a 19.52% drop. But DC Petworth houses almost saw double housing activity compared to March 2008. 46 houses in DC Petworth sold this month compared to 25 in March 2008- a 84% increase.
