Im not afraid of dying. I am afraid of not trying. If you don't go out there and utilize the new trends that Real Estate Agents are using to succeed in this Real Estate Business-Ex:Social Media,Blogging,Video Blogging,Video e-mail( Ex:Eyejot) etc,
then your business will start dying slowly without you even knowing it. Its like the conversation I have with my friend who is a real estate agent at another company.
I have been telling him to get on Active Rain and blog for the longest time. One of this real estate agent's reason for not blogging is because it use to be free now you have to pay. Also this real estate agent is one of those agents that thinks spending hours in front of a computer monitor is just a waste of time. Don't you spend time in front of a computer when you are searching for houses for your clients, typing up an offer, your listing or searching online which a lot of us do. Then why don't you do the same thing with blogging. Besides it is going to get you some business if you write great content, post pictures and use certain keywords.
How can you say something doesn't work when you have yet to try it? Besides you can use your blogs as an advantage when you go on listing presentation. Real Estate Agents with a strong internet presence is more than likely to be hired for the job than a real estate agent who can't not be found no where on the Internet. Now when I go on listing presentation or even when I give out my business cards,I am going to start telling people to Google "Lanre Folayan",or certain neighborhoods that I have written blogs on if I am passing out flyers or business cards in that area such as "Tantallon on the Potomac Fort Washington MD Homes for sale,Oxon Hill Single Family Homes for sale,Deanwood DC Homes for sale,Petworth DC Homes for sale-I am sure you get what I am trying to say.
The more you write blogs on certain long tail keywords(I am still learning myself) with great content on a consistent basis, the better you have a chance on coming up first page on Google. I don't always know what to write about. If you don't have a clue, what to write about, read many of the great blogs written here to give you an idea of what to blog about. You never know what you can do unless you try.
I'm not afraid of dying. I am afraid of not trying.

Lanre - Success comes from experience and experience comes from trying and trying and trying. Sometimes you fail, but failure gives you even more experience!
Lanre ~ You have presented so many important points about why to blog.. you are doing it well and being able to have people see your digital trail in the form of blogs in the area.. is the best close ever!
Lanre, I always look for your blog because I usually get something educational out of it, or I learn about my friend Lanre, either way is a win for me. Your friend needs to look at the big picture, I love the business that I have recieved from AR, but I value the freindships even more...
I love it! I'm not afraid of dying. I am afraid of not trying.
Jack London, author of Call of the Wild
"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time....."
I was at an event and the speaker said "don't be afraid of dying, be afraid of living a mediocre life..."
Lanre,
Great post and some much needed friday inspiration. it rings so true you can't be afraid to try new things or sit on the sidelines.
Lanre -
A great opening line and appropriate for so many things. Your friend is better off for knowing you.

Lanre, Very nicely written post and packed with reasons people should be blogging! I have even given classes to friends and affiliates...can't make them become bloggers but I can choose to continue!
