Somebody knows somebody who might know somebody who is looking to buy or sell a house. This blog was inspired by Diane Williams's Featured Blog.
I Called Myself Up To Hear My Phone
This blog is about her not ringing like it use to and she is looking for ways to start drumming up business again.
My comments was: Blog. Blog about your neighborhood and subdivisions. Pass out your business cards to anybody. Somebody out there knows somebody who is looking to buy. Great post.
Suddently I came up with the title for my blog. 'Somebody knows somebody who might know somebody who is looking to buy or sell a house".
Giving out your business cards to people whenever you are out in public is one good way to meet a possible client.
Have you ever given your card out to somebody and the first thing that came out of their mouth was "My credit is not good","I just brought a house",We are not looking to buy right now","I don't have the money,or state some other reason why they are not interested in buying a house right now? Well they might not be in a position to buy a house. However they might know somebody who is talking about buying or selling their house. And even if they don't know somebody who is looking to buy or sell a house, chances are their co-workers,friends or associates might know somebody who is looking to buy or sell a house.
We are connected to one another in different ways you would've never thought of. Who knew that Brad Pitt and President Barack Obama are distant cousins? I didn't know that. Some of you probably didn't know that either. Also I think that you should always wear your name tag WHENEVER YOU ARE DRESSED UP IN PROPER BUSINESS ATTIRE. Read this blog by Sheldon Neal LAUGH AT MY NAME TAG IF YOU WISH ! ... BUT THAT SHINY LITTLE THING JUST GOT ME A CLIENT !!!". to see why. Don't wear your name tag if you are not dressed up in proper business attire. Because if you are not, there is a good chance that they are either going to throw away your business card or they will never call you again. Remember -Always dress to impress. Author Camille Lavington even wrote a book called " You've only got three seconds. How to make the right impression in your business and social life.
However as a real estate professional, whenever you see someone not dressed to impress, don't automatically assume that just because they are not dressed to impress or for success that it is not a possible good lead. You will be surprised how rich some people are but dress like they don't have at a lot or nothing at all. Never judge a book by its cover. They might not be a possible lead but they can help lead you to someone who can not only turn out to be a great lead but end up giving you more great leads -Ex:Referrals. Who doesn't want referrals? I am always looking for referrals Active Rainers. Remember we have to always impress our clients.
So next time you out somewhere, give out your business card to anybody. Who knows what might happen. You might even end up finding a possible recruit into the real estate business
Somebody knows somebody who might know somebody who is looking to buy or sell a house.

This is a great suggestion. We're in a relationship business, and we have to have relationships to do it.
You just never know who knows who !
Very good recommendation Lanre !
Sheldon Neal -- That British Agent -- (Bergen County, NJ - RE/MAX Real Estate Limited)- Sheldon you just reminded me of your Gold Star blog you wrote. By the way if you don't mind,I copied and pasted it to my blog. Thanks for your comments. Have a great weekend.
Lanre - Thanks for mentioning me in your post and and the great advice. You are so right we never know what kind of leads we can get by handing out our card...I lived in Ann Arundel County for 13 years, beautiful country.
Diane Williams (RE/MAX Realty Pros~Logan Martin Lake, St. Clair & Talladega )-Wow! That's interesting. Small world huh? I have drove past Arne Arundel County MD many times but I have never visited. You are very welcome for the mention. Thanks for writing the blog. Your blog was a muse for my blog. Have a great weekend. Great post.
Great post, we all know somebody that knows somebody. And to connect to somebody, wear that name tag or if you don't want to wear a name tag, wear the Realtor pin, I do.
Lanre,
As you wrote, blog blob and blog, how time consuming is, but hopefully we can have the fruits sooner or later about our phone ringing from the great Rain :) take care !
Great pointers, and great post title!! My dear friend, and colleague Andi Grant is a card passing Queen. I'll be sure to forward this to her -- she'll love it!!
As Christine said above this is a "relationship" buiness. You never know when the next deal will drop in your lap. Always be ready.
So true, do not judge by how people dress even though we as professional are judged but that is understandable because until a person has a chance to know us as agent they can only go by our appearance.
You are so right. Leave that card where ever you can. I leave them at gas pumbs, restaurants, car wash, laundry mats, grocery stores.. ANYWHERE!
Excellent advice. You just never know who or where your card might get passed around to.
Simon Mills (Mills Realty)-Absolutely. You will be surprised where you next client will come from. Thanks for your comments Simon.
Sharon Harris (Coldwell Banker Select Pros.)-You are soo right. Heck I sometimes leave it in Magazines especially those magazines on Money and Investments. Thanks for your comments Sharon.

Robert L.Brown-Robert some of us forget that you have to build a relationship first with your client in order to gain their trust. So true. Thanks for your comments.
Andi Grant did you forget to log in when you made that comment? LOL. If that is you, thank you for your comments.
Carla Muss-Jacobs Principal Broker/Owner EBA Portland LLC | www.EBAPortland.com | (Exclusive Buyers Agent Beaverton Portland)-I think Andi forgot to log in. Thank you very much. Since Andi Grant is the passing card queen,I need to be the passing card king. Speaking of passing out cards,I got a challenge going on with Markita Aldridge-Woods: "Your Woodbridge FHA/VA Lender" (WestStar ....-Loser buys lunch and it is not McDonalds-LOL. Thank you Carla.
