Things to do in Washington DC: Speechless Sunday-Ganesha,The Elephant God

Speechless Sunday-Ganesha,The Elephant God

Ganesha The Elephant God in IndiaIn case many of you don't know I have a new hobby-Photography with my phone (Don't know which camera to get yet. Any suggestions?)So I have decided to use my love for my new hobby for my other new hobby-viewing Art and Sculptures. Last Thursday when I visited the Sackler Gallery of Art on 1050 Independence Avenue SW,I took a picture of the Ganesha.

In India Ganesha is the Elephant God. It is known to Hindus as the remover of obstacles and is often invoked at the initiation of new projects or at the entrance to temples. His blessing brings good fortune and insures prosperity. Bless me Lord.:-) Happy Sunday everyone.

That is some great shot. We love photography but unfortunately don't have much time to do that.

Good shot and interesting subject!  I love to use my iPhone for shots that I have to take quickly and surprisingly, the quality is usually pretty good!  ~ Susan

Fascinating stuff, Lanre!   Some of the camera phones take exceptionally good photos.  My daughter has a Droid, and I am always amazed at photos she sends my way.  I have a Nikon D90 SLR, but also pack around a Canon point and shoot camera.

Lanre, I remember the days I had an Olympus Camera and then five years ago in a move it magically disappeared with the movers..... anyway ever since then I have only used my Samsung Camera to illustrate my posts and take pictures in general... they did me  a favor by "losing" my camera...Endre
