Things to do in Washington DC: ADVERTISE FOR FREE- THEN WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY A FEE?

ADVERTISE FOR FREE- THEN WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY A FEE?

Can anyone please tell me when did free cost you something? Can someone please tell me when did paying for something become free? I am sick and tired of people always saying that they are offering free services or products only to request money later on. I think it sucks and very misleading. I"ll appreciate it if I can know upfront whether something is free or not. To me,it says that you are either a fraud, thief, crook, liar or all of the above if your saying one thing and doing the opposite of what you should be doing. Sorry if I am ranting about this but I just don't know why people say "Advertise for free. But you have to pay for it. This has to stop. That's all I am saying.

I agree Lanre, FREE should be just that.  I don't even like it when they say all you have to do is pay for postage.  Usually the postage costs more than the product is worth!

Heather - Thanks. I thought it was just me. I really appreciate that. Great post.

Linda - Actually. I agree with you. It is not free if I have to pay for the postages. And a lot of time the postages does cost more than the product. Great post.

I agree if someone is going to advertise something for free that is what is should be FREE!  I guess that tells a lot about a company if they are trying to mislead you right up front.

I absolutely agree. They advertise some things as FREE, but then it isn't!

Kris- You are right. Free is a very powerful word. Maybe that is why I like the word a lot. Thanks for your comments.

Lanre, There is no such thing as a free lunch. If you think there is you'll be sure to get indigestion. :) Brenda
