We are know that real estate sales are down and that times are rough. It has prompted some real estate brokers to downsize. Some real estate professionals have left the business and are seriously thinking of leaving the real estate business. It has caused conflicts in families of real estate professionals. I remembered reading here the story of a young lady asking whether she should leave or stay in the real estate business. She said that her fiance or husband told her she should just leave because she is wasting her time and that she is never going to make no money. ( I have been there -TRUST ME. In fact, something like that happened to me recently. That's all I am going to say about that. )
I am a firm believer in the statement "If you can see it,you can achieve it". Its one thing to vision yourself being successful. But it is another thing to put action behind your beliefs. Things are rough. But no matter what shape the Real Estate Market is in,Real Estate is and will always be in high demand for Real Estate. But I am not going to just sit and complain about it. I am doing something about it. People not believing in me is making me work even harder on improving my craft and becoming a better real estate professional. I just refuse to lose. I came in this business to win and that's what I am going to do. Successful top producing real estate agents didn't get to where they are at overnight-They worked hard VERY HARD to achieve their status. The Real Estate business is tough? Life is tough and it didn't come with a instructions either. ( It would've been so nice if it did ).
You will win and succeed in this business. You just have to get out there and let people know that you are a real estate professional who knows their real estate market very well. Let them know that you are not about just making a commission check. You want to help them own a piece of the American Dream. Let them know that you care about their wants and needs. People don't care what you know until they know that you care. So for those who are down, feel like things wont get better in Real Estate and not motivated because of the monsters ( media ) lying to the public, don't be discouraged. When no one is there to encourage you, encourage yourself. Let everyone you meet know that you are best thing that ever happened to them because of your knowledge of real estate and services that you are going to offer to them. Be enouraged and don't get discouraged.

Lanre: Thanks! This is the place for encouragement! We're all in the trenches, exchanging ideas, news and most of all a hand up and a pat on the back! Yes, things are tough and the media isn't helping. But good times or bad, people will always want a home of their own and a guide to get them there! D.C. is lucky to have YOU!
Lanre, I love your background photo. Very peaceful. Great post. I think we have all felt this way lately. Do I stay or do I go?
I, for one, have worked way to hard to get where I am. To walk away and start something else, scares the heck out of me, can I do it. Yes. I can make myself comfortable working anywhere, that's just part of my personality. I wouldn't matter if I am flipping burgers or selling houses I will do the best job I can. I will hang on as long as I can, Bottom line, I have to make a mortgage payment and I have to think of my family. I don't know what the answer it, but I have a little faith and it keeps me coming back, with a smile on my face.

Lanre-very well said...the market is bad right now, but this to shall end...this is not the first time it has happened and it always bounces back and it will again...thanks for this post.
Lanre,
You are right! Sometimes we need to stop and reinvent ourselves and remember why we entered this industry.
Doing so creates opportunities for us to innovate!
I had to do this just last week as I played my many roles including, Realtor, graduate student and most importantly, Mama!
Your post was inspiring.....thanks.....
Vanessa.
Lanre, Great post, my friend. The most important person that needs to believe in you, is YOU! Sounds like you have that covered. Yes, if you can see IT, IT shall be yours. You go for it Lanre, You can do it and YOU will do it!
Lanre, You are so right. Every morning I get up and count my blessings and say thanks for what I have. Then, I work positively and know I will succeed. I don't watch the negative news anymore because when you listen to that over and over again, you start to believe it. Stay strong, you will succeed. Great post.
Vanessa- Wow! That's a lot of roles to play Vanessa. I am glad that you found my post inspiring. Thanks for your comments.
Elizabeth-Times like this,we need to encourage ourselves more Liz. I am encouraged alone just by your comments my friend. Thanks Liz.
Audrey-Thank you! Thank you! Continue to stay strong too Audrey! Much success to you. Thanks for your comments.
Lanre - there are few outside of your family and very good friends who care if you win or lose
If it's to be it's up to me
Kathy- Absolutely. Thats why I ignore those who try to put me down and go out and prove them wrong. Success is the biggest revenge. Thanks for your comments.
Lanre - What a great post - I could certainly relate to many of your points having had my experience with the "nay sayers." You definitely have the right attitude!
Jackie-Thanks Jackie. People are going to say whatever they are going to say. Its up to you to prove them wrong and shut them up. Thanks for your comments.
