You are reading this right. This is no typo. Someone just brought a house for $750 million dollars- Are you kidding me? This story to me is probably one of the top stories so far this year. This puts a whole new meaning to the word "Super rich". To me this is beyond filthy rich. When you can buy a $750 million home, you can buy just about anything.
I was on yahoo.com when I ran across this story. Here is the house that I brought ( It's okay to dream every now and then ) that some zillionaire brought for $750 million.
But I have some questions to ask.
1. When you buy a house like that,do they even have neighbors? I assuming that every house in that neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods comes with the house.
2. What do you give them for a house warming gift? Heck, you will probably get a house warming gift if you stop by just to welcome them to the neighborhood.
I was just curious. Anyway here is the story about the $750 million dollar home that sold The $750 Million Home Sale: Adept Investing or Vanity?

Lanre Folayan-Real Estate Professional with Exit Premier Realty. "Buy a home in Washington DC"

Rumor has it that this was just a marketing ploy in hopes of being able to rent out the home for $1,000,000 per month.
The "identified buyer" said that he will not being buying in France until France apologizes for netting him in a prostitute for hire investigation.
Wow! I'd love to be their agent...2.5% of $750 million is $18 million and change!! I can dream, can't I?
...and here I thought you sold the home. Too bad you're not the luck Realtor. Maybe someday...
Sandy
Jesse-That's interesting. I didn't hear that. Thanks for sharing Jesse.
Julie-There is nothing wrong about dreaming. Dreams come true. If you can dream it,you can achieve it. Welcome to Active Rain Julie.
Wow. There are very few homes in that price range, but like Julie the first thing I thought was about the commission. A greedy lot we are...
Sandy- If I sold that house, trust me. I will probably be in St.Troupez somewhere. I won't come back to work till January'09-LOL. Thanks for your comments.
Paul-I thought about the commission too Paul. Any other real estate agent would.
If they try to flip it, I wonder what the asking price would be.
LOL. You are funny Randy. Can you even flip this? But I did hear that Donald Trump did that with that big mansion he just sold this year. He brought a foreclosure for $41 million and just sold it this year for $100 million. Thanks for your comments.
Whew! Lanre, that is one huge price tag! And from the picture it looks like there is a nearby neighbor. Looks like a nice pool, though!
LOL as for the commission, I am sure the seller could negotiate that way down with the listing agent. LOL I think a buyer's agent could see 0.25% co-op in the MLS and still be super excited to show the house. They would still net just under $2 million on a successful sale.
I wonder what the home inspection would cost?
Here is an interesting post on Estalker (I hope you don't mind a link in your comments, if you do, please delete this comment) ... one of my favorite real estate gossip sites. Mama (the blogs author) tends to be pretty accurate with things, but this one is surely a head scratcher.
That particular post doesn't mention it being a publicity stunt to be able to rent it for $1,000,000 per month, but I did hear that somewhere. Of course, it is all speculation and may just be rumors.
I'm wondering if the whole story will ever come out on this one. Did it even really sell?
LOL, we should try looking it up in MRIS tax records! :)
Lanre - too rich for my blood, that's for sure - I like your new picture - looking good!
WoW! What else can I say? www.tracysoussi.com
Tracy- All I can say is the real estate professionals who listed and represented the buyer got paid. That's all I am going to say. Have a great weekend.
Mike-Mike that would be a great commission check. I need those kind of commission checks in my life. Have a great weekend.
Alyce- Thank you Alyce. I didn't know that you noticed it. Have a great weekend.
Jesse- I don't mind you doing that at all. I am definitely going to check out the link. Have a great weekend.
Jesse-I know right. I would be excited to see a 0.2% co-op (only on a particular listing like this).
Patricia- Whoever the neighbor is Pat,I think their house value just shot through the roof. Have a great weekend.
