Washington DC Weekend Guide October 31-Nov.2nd

It is the end of the week once again. It is of course the end of the month. But most importantly,it is time for another Washington DC Weekend Guide by yours truly.

Since today is Halloween and you're probably going to receive scary e-mails or see something that looks very scary or creepy looking,I decided to write a post that will have nothing to do with Halloween.

                                                                 FRIDAY

Break out star from "The Dave Chapelle Show" Charlie Murphy will be performing at the DC Improv at 8pm. Price:$30. DC Improv is located on 1140 Connecticut Ave NW (202)296-7008.

A Beautiful View at Studio Theatre Stage 4 2nd Stage. Daniel MacIvor's A Beautiful View is black-box stripped down experimental theatre only two chairs and a tents share the stage with meditations on sexual identity can all too easily acquire a patina of self righteousness. Friday and Saturday at 8:30pm. Sunday 7:30pm. Studio Theatre is located at 1501 14th St NW (800) 494-8497.

Shear Madness. Funny without ever becoming either witty or clever,its audience participation who did it in which you are encouraged to grill the witness and essentially to write your own ending by voting for a guility party. Shear Madness will be performed at the John F.Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Lab Center 2700 F St NW Washington DC (202) 467-4600.

Anhedonia Exhibit features work by Will Schneider-White on Friday through Sunday. District of Columbia Arts Center is located at 2438 18th St.NW (202) 462-7833.

Children's Multicultural Book Festival. This festival will feature readings by authors including Nikki Giovanni,music and dance performances. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is located at 2700 F St NW Washington DC (202) 467-4600. This is a free event.

                      

                                                             SUNDAY

New York Art Critic Peter Schjeldal holds a conversation and book signing about about criticism at the National Gallery of Art. National Gallery of Art is located at 600 Constitution Ave NW Washington DC. 202-737-4215. This is a free event.

Hercules and Love Affair will be playing Neoclassical disco for the cool people at the 9:30 Club. 9:30 Club is located on 815 V St NW Washington DC 202-265-0930. Price: $15.
