Washington Auto Show- A collection of more than 700 new cars,trucks,mini-vans and sports-utility vehicles will be at the Walter E.Washington Convention Center at 801 Mount Vernon Place Washington DC. Adults have to pay. However this event is free for ages 5 and younger.
JABARI ASIM- now editor-in-chief of the NAACP's Crisis magazine,examines how Obama turned the old civil-rights model of African-American leadership on its head in What Obama Means: For Our Culture, Our Politics, Our Future. He believes that Obama's election signals that progress has been made in healing wounds and broadening America's concept of leadership. It sounds like the Washington DC area is fully of life and offering much to do on the weekends.
